I have been coming to Steve Saba for over 18 years to have him do my taxes. He has always been an enormous help. With a vast and in depth knowledge of the current tax laws, he really asks all the right questions to maximize one's return. He is a true individual and would give you the shirt off his back. Smart, generous and kind would be how I describe him. I've referred many of my friends to him and they are forever grateful. I am dismayed by the negative reviews on this site and quite frankly don't understand how they can be so venomous. He truly cares for his clients, for mankind at large and our planet more than anyone I know. And he is a brilliant Tax Man!! Stop hating. Let it go, I say! |

I've read all the comments here, and, now that it's tax time, I was wondering if Steve was still in business. I have to add to this board my own experience with Steve. My wife and I went to Steve for a few years - because we got BIG returns. We found him to be a mean, rather obnoxious little fellow who really rubbed us the wrong way, especially after waiting for up to four hours to see him (and yes, we had appointments each time)...but we went more than once because of the huge return. One of us was audited a few years ago and he was no help to us at all. We pointed out that he'd fudged figures (which, truth be told, we should have looked over more carefully at the time; it's our fault for trusting him), he didn't give us any help. DO NOT USE HIS SERVICES. Terrible, terrible man, disrespectful toward females, etc. Stay away. |

Steve Sabba has been doing my personal income taxes for the last 9 years. He now handles my business tax returns and bookkeeping as well. I have sent numerous friends and colleagues to him over the years. Everyone has always been very satisfied with his level of professionalism, demeanor, office and staff.. Yes you have to wait when its close to the tax deadline..Big Deal. Steve personally answers every email I send him in a timely fashion. I trust him implicitly. I even ask him for advice before embarking on new business ventures. He has even reminded me to get in and file my taxes when April 15th approaches if he hasnt seen me yet. His charitable contributions are too numerous to mention. I felt compelled to write this review after shockingly reading some of the others on this site. Obviously, you cant please everyone. I am one of the pleased ones.. Thanks Steve |

Steve Sabba got me audited TWICE. This is after years of seeing him, having me wait 4+ hours to get my taxes done, only to be met by his extremely cocky attitude and comments on my breast size and hair color. I thought he saved me money initially, he's actually costing me more in money and time to the IRS with the level of trouble Im in. He also isn't even in business with his own name- just sullying his partner's reputation and making his minions miserable with low pay and ridiculous hours. The only redeeming quality is his receptionist, a bona-fide sweetheart who deserves better. And Im sorry so sorry for her, because i know for fact she has to post good reviews for him on this website so the reviews don't go to 0. RUN, don't walk from using his services..... |

I have been going to see Sabba since 2004. You may have to deal with long waits in his office, but it is worth the wait. He is a top notch individual and professional. He has always been there to help me regardless of the circumstance and situation. I have recommended over 2 dozen people to Steve and they have all been satisfied. |

Steve Sabba is a CROOK. He took money from me to do tax returns year after year and guess what? The majority of them were NEVER filed!!! Now I have the freaking IRS after me, with penalties and interest, etc. What a nightmare! And this fool has nothing to say about it. He has the audacity to circumvent the facts AND be obnoxious about it!!!! What a low life piece of scum. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS. By the way, I found out recently, HE'S NOT AN ACCOUNTANT BUT JUST A TAX PREPARER!! |

I was one of Steve's original clients and despite the fact that he treated me and, from what I could tell, all of his clients with utter disdain, I was lazy and stayed with him way too long. Even his own staff (who change every 15 minutes) hate him with a passion. Steve treats them worse than his clients. So finally after way too many years of having Steve talk to me like a dog, I have gone elsewhere and I couldn't be happier. Also, you can bet that all the "glowing reviews" of Steve on this site were written by Steve himself, especially the ones that keep repeating the "more than 4,000 clients" and "he saved 90,000 lives" lines. I mean, seriously, Steve you need to get more creative. When taxes are filed honestly the difference between one good accountant and another is negligible. Also, it's worth repeating that Steve is NOT A CPA! Steve is a CONVICTED FELON. And he was convicted for TAX EVASION. He's lucky he's not in prison doing what he does best. |

Steve Sabba is the best accountant in New York. He saved my butt when I got audited after trying to do my own return. My 2009 refund was the best ever! Then I find out he's also the biggest philanthropist. He has built over 100 fresh water wells in Africa and saved over 90,000 lives. He helps fatherless children locally and has rescued countless orphans and abandoned children in Eastern Europe. He is about to "adopt" an orphanage in Pakistan. He's brilliant, dedicated, and has a heart of gold.The few people ranting and raving on this website may have had a bad experience but they're probably just disgruntled for having done something stupid. Anyone with an ounce of sense can see through that. Don't listen to any of that nonsense and don't listen to that nonsense about a felony conviction. I researched what had happened and he actually sacrificed his reputation to save a friend from a far worse fate. THAT is the truth. |

Sabba has agreed to pay $270,984 in personal income tax, interest and penalties, most of which had been paid. Sabba is scheduled to be sentenced on April 21, 2009 and to pay a $50,000 criminal fine. |

I went here b/c of a referral from a friend. Steve Saba is not very professional, not good at communicating (i.e. runaround, WON'T TAKE CALLS), and his office is very disorganized. After filing my taxes through him and being told I was all set, guess what? I've gotten notices from the IRS saying that my taxes were never filed!!! When I continously emailed Steve to ask about him he either puts the blame on me somehow, or tells me he's taking care of it. It's absolutely crazy! I do not recommend him at all!!!! |

It may seem like the man has to learn how to delegate to accomodate his clients. It's always a struggle to reach him. However in my 10 years with him I saved over $150k - $200k that I'm positive no other accountant would get. That's worth the hassle |

I would never ever go to Steve Sabba again. Yes, there may be 4000+ loyal clients that he may have, but you know what, he is sure to lose them slowly but surely if he continues to behave the way he did with us. Our taxes were filed incorrectly. We paid him to do an amendment and despite doing that we still kept getting notices from IRS requiring us to pay more taxes. When we asked Steve about it, first of all it took him very long to get back us and on top of that he sent us some very rude, nasty emails questioning our comprehending capabilities and complaining that we were giving him migraine headaches! He himself admitted that he didn't understand what was going on and he had the audacity to question our intelligence. So much for an "expert" tax accountant. So, he is neither good at what he does nor is he professional. His clientele is 4000 minus one for sure. |

Steve Sabba got me out of serious trouble with the IRS. I was left for dead by my previous accountant when the IRS audited me for two consecutive years--the guy totally abandoned me. After three years of fighting for an appeal, it was granted and I hired Mr. Sabba to straighten it out. He did so with flying colors; my audit resulted in not owing any money. |

I've been going to Steve for 11 years and I can't imagine going elsewhere. He gets better every year. He's the nicest person alive and works harder than anyone I've ever known only to give away most of what he earns to charities in Africa, eastern Europe and here in the US. He has saved countless children all over the world. That notwithstanding he's the best tax accountant on earth, hands down. The people on this site who gave him bad ratings are five or six out of 4,000 who had a problem, hey you can't make everyone happy all the time. And on the subject of this nonsense felony, I know the truth and he took a fall to protect a friend, how many of YOU out there would do that? I though so....NONE of you. So get lost and go be like that low life Steve hired in 2004 who is stlll dedicating his life to trying to ruin Steve (which will NEVER happen) and make something of your own lives....if you can! |

Well, you know what. for the few of you ranting on this site, guess what, it doesn't affect Steve one bit. He still has over 4,000 loyal clients like me who know better than to believe every bit of nonsense we read online. If you want to know what's really going on go to www.taxpro.com/truth and as far as that other thing with Yorktown, guess what, that's Mrs. Maniac with the Mullett who asked him for money (her name is Liz and she's been leeching off him for years) and he finally said no so she fabricated false charges against him and they will be DROPPED. So get over it all of you and why don't you go get lives instead of crabbing all over the internet. |

I used Steve from 2004-2008. I endured the long waits and he always got us a decent refund. He filed on the spot but it took months, sometimes years to get a copy of the returns. And it was all too good to be true. Less than one month after his conviction on tax fraud the audit letter from the IRS was in my mailbox. Now I have a big mess to clean up. |

Here's my experience and my opinion - he is NOT there when you need him. He does not answer emails or take calls. He does NOT stand behind his work. I found this out the hard way. He may be knowledgeable but it doesn't matter if he gives you the runaround and doesn't apply it to his work. Save yourself the trouble and the money it will cost to fix things. Go elsewhere. |

I give thanks every year I found Steve Sabba. He knows the tax laws like no one else. Yes, the process sometimes takes a long time but he is thorough and it's worth the wait. I too hope he never retires! At first I was a little skeptical about him but I've come to love and appreciate his sense of humor - life is too serious -lighten up! He is just not a regular tax accountant, he's a humanitarian. If you want the best accountant, then Steve is your guy. |

The few people who have said nasty things about Steve on this dopey website are a miniscule sampling of his 4,000+ clients like myself who keep coming back every year so instead of going by what five or six disgruntled clowns are saying, why not track down some of us who have been loyal for 16 years and will continue to be until he retires...which I hope to God he never does because I'd be lost. He's brilliant and knows more about taxation than anyone I've ever known, he does everything legally and thoroughly and he's a saint with his dedication to clean water wells in Africa, saving orphans in Romania, taking in foster children in the tri-state area....shall I continue? You get the idea....you're dealing with one of the rare gems of humanity here. |

Steve Sabba is a nightmare to deal with. Not only his personality is weird one but he keeps you waiting for hours and hours! People sat on on the floor for hours. I waited 7 hours in his office ! Then I discovered that he filled my taxes late, months after I met with him. I still did not receive my tax return one year later ! This is not professional at all. I suggest you avoid this guy. |

I've been seeing him for 4+ years, and all above accounts, good and bad are true. I just came back and he made some pretty gross sexual comments about my **** in front of some other clients (trying to joke)and made me feel both enraged and degraded. As a woman, it happens a lot with him, (jokes about my blonde hairclor one time) and whether you are liberal or not, like to take the piss or conservative, its really insulting. He is a great tax guy, but with his crass sensibility and huge ego, he should move back to his former larger digs. Plus the 2.5 hour wait time for an off-season appt is deplorable. Dude needs to learn to say no and trn away clients. |

Steve has taken on too many clients and it has hurt his ability to service existing ones. His lack of sleep is hurting his work. I went in to get my taxes done and over a month later, after 6 phone calls and promises from his assistants and two promises personally from him I have still not received a copy of my tax return. He may get you a big return, but you stand a good chance of getting lost in all the mess of his office. |

Excellent accountant..... talks too much while doing his work, so the wait is a bit long, but in the end he LEGALLY gets you the largest refund possible, or the lowest payment possible. He files your taxes on the spot, and charges an average of $350, which is nowhere near expensive, considering the average accountant in Midtown charges $500+, and even more if you have 1099 income that he needs to find expenses for, and he does that perfectly as well. Believe me, he worked wonders on my return for the past 8 years. |

Steve Sabba and the entire team at TaxPro are worth their weight in gold! I was referred to them a few years back by a friend and have been going there ever since. Doing taxes with other firms used to be like going to the dentist, but with Steve it's more like Christmas! Steve knows his tax law and how to maximize your return. When you think you're going to owe and you actually get a refund, it doesn't even matter what he charges since it pays for itself. If Steve doubled his fees I'd still pay - he's just that good and worth every penny. Another thing I like about Steve is that he's not your typical "stuffy" accountant. He treats his customers more like friends than "clients" - he's funny, personable and kids around. His customers love him and even bring him gifts for doing their taxes. We fondly call him "The Guru"... because he IS. Lastly, he's an amazingly nice and charitable guy, involved in many charities such as bringing fresh water to African Villages by building wells. A++ |

Steve Sabba is an excellent tax accountant who really knows his taxes like noone else. He has a large client base because he is so good. He will save you lots of taxes in a legal and proper tax way and his fees are very reasonable with the work involved. So ignore the two other comments |
